A Dino for Today

It is Monday, fun-day, right? I have also decided to create "schedule" for the blog, something a little less random, so you know what to expect when, of course, this first go will be a test and it may change, but here is the plan

Monday - This is the day for fun and games, there will be a printable game, cut and play toy or coloring page every Monday.

Tuesday - This is the day we highlight the Shy Socialites, there will be a decorating or party idea, we will highlight new items in the shop and perhaps have a free printable or two

Wednesday _ Wednesday is the day I will add and show new merchandise in my shops, also if there is a new "organizational" print-out, like a calendar or list, this is the day it will be posted

Thursday _ we go and visit a friend for coffee and treats, this may mean introductions and collaborations are in order!

Friday- Friday changes every week-
The first Friday of the week will be a craft idea, it may include instruction, links to other blogs, printable patterns and so forth.
The second Friday is the day we talk about upcoming Holidays or seasons, I will link to past-printables that you will find useful, and add new ones.
The Third Friday - Give-away Friday, this is the Friday we will have a give-aways, they can be custom illustration, gift cards, gift sets, one lucky winner, you will learn all about how you can win on this day (and I will send the give-away out within a week)
Fourth Friday -Journal Friday, I will offer my thoughts for the month and have pages for you to add to your journal (standard 3-ring binder)
If there is a 5th Friday, will that will bring a surprise.

What is more fun than a play kitchen? A play kitchen inspired by none other than Confessions of a Cookbook Queen, This charming set needs some assembly, cardstock, ink, a glue stick and scissors, and you have the recipe for some fun!
Appliances are all pink, and have the "crown" emblem, in honor of her Highness.

This is why I should never be left alone when a TV is on...HA HA HA HA. Maybe I was lonely, who knows. I could not decide which was best, spook or strike fear int eh first line, and having 2 separate cards, or all on one. All I know is my BFF Lovey thought it was BRILLIANT, and thinks there needs to be matching bottle labels. She is out measure labels now...not actually buying any bottles, just at the store measuring labels. Do you think they will ask her to leave?
It is a spoof on a beer commercial line, see...too much TV.
This also fulfills my Facebook query of what the next printable should be, Note cards for friends.

Soups On!

I love soup, there is something warm and cozy about it. My mom used to make me tomato soup with grilled cheese when I was little, and it is still my go-to comfort meal. My dad would make turkey-noodle soup for me every year after Thanksgiving, and when I say for me, yes it was for me, he made it the way I liked it because I liked it best, as a matter of fact that was probably my favorite thing about Thanksgiving, the day after turkey-noodle soup. I am now a vegetarian, but if there is one thing that could temp me back, it would be that soup!

When the fabulous Laura of Tip Junkie said I could make anything I want for her site and she would post it, well, it had to be a soup thing (it was a cool day, and I was feeling nostalgic) so I came up with this simple soup set, I did a drawing to resemble Laurie, and added some veggies I recently drew that I thought were too cute not to share! A Birthday Gift to Share

I was asked by my friend Angie of Seven Clown Circus to create some special birthday decor. So being that she is my friend, and seeing as how as my sister are trying to expand that part of our business, i said "sure" She gave me colors and said...now go, create! I did, and then she said "these are fabulous, this is a style you should offer in your store" and I said "okay"...yes I am not much of a conversationalist.

She used these to celebrate the 140th birthday of Smart and Final (I had no idea they had been around that long). Follow this link to see pictures of the printables in action, and get some yummy party recipes.

Cookie Shop Pictures

I tried and I cried. I have received requests for photos of my printables in action, as you know I have been trying with the Tip Junkie owl set and the popcorn box. So here I try again.

These are so cute in person, they are, I am just not a good photographer, yet! Before you blame the camera, it is not the camera (I might post some photos my son has taken to prove it later). Anyway, I DO love this set, it is very cute in person, and here is my attempt to photograph some of the bigger pieces for you!

The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle has some adorable photos of the cookies in action here, much better photography.

The little cookie bags are adorable, and would be fun for real cookies you give as gifts. Also, the st would make cute paper-ornaments fora themed tree and/or scrapbook extras.

I almost named this post "Tag Your It!", but I didn't.

I am forgetful, no really, I am. I was asked over a week ago to make monkey tags, and I did not remember until half-way through these tags~perfect for schoolbags, backpacks, lunches, desks, rooms and calling cards ~ I feel kind of bad. Although, Id o not want to feel bad , so I will stop. Owl Set-Tip Junkie Exclusive

I was so excited to be able to create this Owl Patterned Reading and Journal set for Tip Junkie, it is an exclusive, so if you want it you have to go there for it:) I have to be honest, I am not sure why ti says 7, unless I missed something. There are 12 items and 6 pages- a page f bookmarks, a page of bookplates and 4 journal pages.
The owl icon is an inspiration of something pretty and playful. I created a variety of backgrounds you will be seeing return, the chevron is not perfect, being hand drawn, but blends well with the playfulness of the set, the diamond pattern mixes different sized diamonds to create a somewhat uniform look, the other patterns are revamps of previous patterns i have used, given a fresh makeover for this all new set!

Now these boxes are smaller than others I have made, they fit on one page, because well I do not currently have an 8.5 by 14 card-stock, and I thought you might not either. They are so cute, do not be discouraged by my photography.

I get to wake up every morning and I get to do what I love, this alone amazes me. One might argue I have not reached success yet, they could use facts and figures, but none of that matters, because I get to do what I love.

Add to that I get to make new friends, fun friends, creative friends, and friends who understand when they ask me to draw something and when I get distracted and do something else, they let me run with it.
My friend Tristen of Sift is one of those friends. She is an artist of the epicurean sort, and she does amazing work. We met through business, and became friends. It is always nice to work with someone who understand your quirks...and knows how to make cookies.

I wanted to share link to my Zazzle shops, where you can browse through pages and pages of my illustrations on merchandise. Everything is printed on-demand, so you can add your name, date and other important information from the variety of text choices available at Zazzle. All of the illustrations in these stores were created by me
this is the Candy Store, this is where i let my cute-self run-wild with animal illustrations, candy illustrations, and cute reminders of my childhood.
The Trillustrations shop is more more fashionable (but still completely fun side), clothing, architecture and objects are the focus here.

Hello Balloons

On my birthday, without a real plan for a cake or anything, we went out to get a dozen cupcakes for a cupcake tasting party. I am not sure it felt like my birthday, it was not remarkably different than any other day. One interesting thing did happen though, I saw a balloon floating off into the sky. It was pretty low when I saw it start it ascent, ti was pretty low, so I was sure I would find its owner frantically looking for it, but no, no one claimed it, or even seemed to notice. Maybe it was a birthday gift to me, maybe I am the only one who saw it. It was a red star....was it a sign? What could it mean? Whatever it means, and if it was even real, I am not sure, but it did inspire me to create these "hello" notes for you...enjoy!

Business and Calling Cards

Thank you to everyone for the fabulous birthday wishes. I have another piece to the Paisley Pages, these business and calling cards. You can click to enlarge and right click to save the blank cards below, or you can request one of the following customizations, free through July 17, 2011.

A.Business cards. Please include your name one one line, then enter and write your business name and.or title, then include up to 3 lines of text, hitting return after each line. You can also have a final tag line in cursive. To make it quick and easy I will be cutting and pasting exactly what you type, so if you type all in caps your card will be all in caps.

B.Calling cards, please include a name for the top line, all the rest of the text will remain the same. Please specify calling cards in your email.

C.Playdate cards, please include a name or names for the top line, all other text remains the same. Please specify playdate cards in your email.

I hope you like these, they would work well for any business, jewelry, cosmetics, sewing, gardening, preschool, fashion....whatever you wish! No color changes available at this time, thank you for understanding.

Write A Letter, please and thank you.

I am so demanding, aren't I, asking you to write a letter....but you should.

I had been meaning to post more this week, but on a whim my best friend flew in from Atlanta! WE had a wonderful time, and now she is flying home. I should write her a letter with this stationery. It coordinates with the custom paisley cards from last week, enjoy!

Inspired by this wonderful post featuring brilliant and adorable lemonade sales-people (the used the lemonade-stand extras you can find here on this blog), I made this set for a watermelon-stand! Sweet delicious and all the rage this Summer...well, every Summer :). I love to see how you use the printables here, so feel free to share links and send photos! Buttons and Roses

I saw the cutest candy buttons and roses at this Etsy Shop today, and it inspired me to make these buttons and roses cards! I chose a coral colored rose, because nothing says Summer to me like large coral roses. My original idea was to make these as old-fashioned calling cards, but they would also be cute play-date cards or "made-by" cards. I hope you like them.
